Some people suffer with weight issues for their entire lives. Many people struggle with traditional diets for long periods of time with no results no matter what they do. Because of this, they start turning to other methods to try and lose weight and become healthy - and among those things is what's known as the master cleanse diet, which many people find effective for them. One of the diets many people choose to turn to is the master cleanse diet; however, many are unaware that that diet comes with side effects that can be very serious.
The Master Cleanse diet is a special diet that Stanley Burroughs developed all the way back in 1941; it was famous later. It's a detox diet designed to remove all of the harmful toxins that get stuck in the body because of things like caffeine or other modern foods that aren't healthy; some people even insist that it can help health problems like ulcers, other diseases and that it can help disorders.
The diet entails drinking things that are only made from fruits or vegetables - no soda, coffee, tea or even water unless it's mixed with fruit; in addition, no solid food is eaten for at least ten days. When people use it for a diet, they often extend that period to anywhere from 30 to 90 days because 10 days is often not enough time to begin losing weight in.
It should be known, however, that the Master Cleanse was never intended to be used as part of a weight loss plan - it's only supposed to be used to remove the toxins from pesticides, hormones, other drugs, chemical fertilizers and heavy metals that today's food leaves behind in people's bodies. When someone chooses to go on the master cleanse, they will experience side-effects; some are serious and some are just unpleasant. It's very common for users to experience severe stomach cramps as well as joint pain; they can also expect to make frequent visits to the bathroom and experience things like vomiting and headaches.
People also report that, while they do lose a large amount of weight quickly, once they begin eating solid food again they gain most if not all of it back. This is because the body's metabolism is slowed down when it is starved, which means that when solid foods are eaten again the calories are burned more slowly. Because of this, it is not often not worth it to use the master cleanse for weight loss.
